Viaquenti Bilingual Program: More than one path to learning.

Our Bilingual Program will have English and Spanish speaking teachers working side by side to create and teach lessons in both languages. Each class will have at least one bilingual teacher, of which many are native speakers, who aim to make learning the languages fun and rewarding in a supportive environment. Our programs low student to teacher ratios allow for the quality interactions that facilitate learning, as well as fostering self-esteem and confidence in the children as they master each language. In order to help parents and their efforts at home with the new language we send weekly newsletters to facilitate reinforcement work outside of school. Following with our school’s curriculum this program will create yet another modality for the children to learn through!

Early Childhood Specialists

Our team of head teachers posses the perfect combination of personal and professional characteristics necessary to guide each child in their educational journey. Our creative, respectful, enthusiastic, energetic, and caring teachers have been trained in the field of early childhood. This educational background gives our teachers the knowledge to provide the adequate nurturing experience to each child.

Child Development Consultant

Viaquenti is very fortunate to have our own Child Development Consultant on staff full time. Miss Denisse attended Pontifical Catholic University of Puerto Rico where she attained her Bachelor’s of Science, she then went on to receive her Master’s Degree in Education from Arcadia University in Pennsylvania. Denisse also has a Technical Degree in Respiratory Therapy, a Certificate of Competency in Special Education, and her New Jersey Certification as a Teacher of Spanish. Denisse joins Viaquenti with years of experience working as a Child Development Specialist, a Social Worker Assistant, an Assistant Director, and as a Teacher. We are privileged to have a specialist with so much valuable experience working with children. Denisse has dedicated her life to children and believes it is imperative to help each child reach their highest potential.

Multiple Intelligences Theory Based Curriculum

Because we believe that every child has a unique profile, we provide customized experiences to let children nurture their own talents.  We built this curriculum in collaboration with Harvard alumni to reach high standards in children’s learning opportunities. Read more about the MI theory.

Project Approach Methodologies

Children participate in short and long-term authentic projects, based on teachers’ observations and assessments of the children’s interests and preferences. In this way, children learn in a meaningful way, and practice real life roles.

Parent Involvement

We strive to build a strong relationship between parents and teachers for the benefit of the child. Parents are invited to get involved in their children’s learning process both at preschool and at home. Also, teachers maintain a close communication with parents through conferences and weekly online newsletters.

Small Class Sizes

To be able to observe and nurture every child’s preferences, we have a ratio of 6 students to 1 teacher in the Early Preschool class and a ratio of 7 students to 1 teacher in the Preschool and Pre-K classes.

High-End Culinary Facilities

To enrich our curriculum we offer children with the opportunity to complement their daily activities with a touch of hands-on culinary experiences. Cooking provides children with the opportunity to participate in the elaboration of a product, from beginning to end, giving them the satisfaction and pride of the final product.

Visual Arts Specialist

As part of our team we have the privilege of having in our school a full time visual arts teacher. Our teacher has an extensive educational background in her area and each class has a scheduled art class each week. The visual arts teacher is involved in the daily activities that occur in the classroom.

Music Specialist

Viaquenti believes in giving every student an opportunity to experience and explore their world through the arts. Along with our Art Specialist we have a wonderful and enthusiastic Music Specialist who is dedicated to providing our students with instrumental, vocal and musical training. Children are introduced to materials and a repertoire of music based on their age group. These sessions last from 30 minutes to an hour depending on the class. Our specialist works alongside our classroom teachers incorporating lesson plans into her curriculum of music activities.

Soccer Coach

Viaquenti also offers soccer classes Spring thru Fall to work on each child’s physical development and to reinforce teamwork. Coach Sly is an accomplished former professional athlete, having played European professional and semi-professional soccer (in his native Slovenia) prior to coming to the United States. Over the years, he has coached various leagues in AYSO, and currently coaches youth soccer in the Jersey City/New York City area. Fun Kids Soccer goal is to teach soccer skills in a fun, non-competitive, educational environment. Fun Kids Soccer creates a perfect opportunity for children to develop and master multiple skills. Kids will strengthen individual skills, and reinforce physical and mental development, while enjoying fun activities. Our goal is to provide many different types of learning experiences through different modalities, these classes help children develop in all areas, such as their Sensory Awareness, Social Skills, Concentration, Body Awareness and Self Esteem.
